BIO

Anthony Recchia is in his third year as a Staff Writer at Paragon Marketing Group for CSLinsider.com, a prep sports website based in Niles, IL.  He covers all 12 teams that play in the Central Suburban League.  Anthony recently finished his position at ESPN 1000-WMVP AM as an Intern Employee for the Afternoon Saloon show.

Anthony graduated from Columbia College Chicago  with a B.A. in Journalism in May 2011.

Anthony started his internship at Paragon Marketing Group in August 2009.  He helped launch the website CSLinsider.com by inputting information onto the website, writing season previews and conducting interviews with the coaches and players of the schools.

When the website launched in early November, Anthony was chosen to start covering games.  He covered both boys and girls basketball, bowling and hockey in the winter.

As the year winded down, Anthony's internship was set to end.  After a meeting with his editor Jeff Davis, it was decided that Anthony would now become a Staff Writer, contributing to the website on a regular basis.

As spring approached, Anthony ventured out to cover new sports.  In spring, he covered baseball, softball, volleyball, cross country and badminton.  Since his start at Paragon, Anthony has published over 80 stories.

In the summer of 2010, Anthony was selected to become an Intern Employee for ESPN 1000 WMVP-AM.  He was assigned to work with the Afternoon Saloon show.  His duties included: researching statistics and information, creating the Game of the Week segment, completing Harry's Almanac, screening phone calls, and logging the show on Microsoft Excel.

This fall, his role at Paragon was expanded. In addition to being a Staff Writer, Anthony is also the Maine East High School beat writer. He covers all the sports at Maine East while continuing his normal duties as a Staff Writer.

Currently, Anthony is actively pursuing a job in journalism, hoping to become the next great sports writer and columnist.

His favorite sports memories include: the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Championship, touching the Stanley Cup while at ESPN, the Chicago Bulls dynasty with Michael Jordan, and all of the great Cubs moments in his lifetime.

In his free time, Anthony loves to play all sports (except soccer) and loves to watch movies.  His favorite movies include: Goodfellas, Casino, The Departed and The Hangover.

Anthony is a die hard Chicago Cubs fan even through the tough times.  Besides the Cubs, Anthony loves the Bears/Vikings, the Blackhawks and Bulls.  Anthony currently resides in River Grove, a northwest suburb of Chicago.
